I came to desert shores dentistry full of anxiety. I had been putting off two root canals for years because I was scared to have the procedure. My first meeting with Dr. Sandvik, he calmly explained steps of the procedure and how he was qualified for the surgery. He gives lectures on how to properly do root canals! After that first evaluation, my nerves were all but gone and I can happily say that both root canals went perfectly. The staff here, from receptionist to dentists are all professional and kind. They treat you like family. I cannot recommend this dentist enough.

I’ve been going to Dr. Sandvik for about two years and I cannot say enough good things about him. I’ve never encountered a more skilled, thorough and caring dentist. When I first started going here I had a number of issues that needed to be addressed. He took photos inside my mouth and explained to me each thing that needed to be done and why. He takes a very conservative approach but also prepares you for all the potential things that could happen when he presents you with treatment options. He has done a number of crowns, a crown for an implant and an emergency root canal for me all with fantastic results. I have always has a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist because of past bad experiences and I’m finally to the point where when I go in I’m completely calm. I’ve started taking my kids to him (ages 12, 11 and 8) and they really like him. Also his hygienist Leah is amazing (especially with the kids) and his assistant Misty is fantastic. When my 12 year old had to get a number of teeth extracted it was a very positive experience as well. No one likes going to the dentist but I can tell you from lots of experience that there is no better dentist out there!

Today, Dr. Sandvik and Misty finished the last phase of my entire mouth restoration - replacing all of my teeth with crowns, veneers, 2 implants and realigning my bite plane in the process!! Unbelievable workmanship!! I never thought my smile would be so beautiful after years of my teeth deteriorating!!! Now I cannot stop smiling!!! Will post my before and after pics when I get them in 2 weeks.

I have known Dr. Sandvik for the last seven years. He has great clinical skill and integrity. Years ago when we were both fresh out of dental school we worked together in another practice. I have seen his results first hand and I can attest to his quality of dental care.
